The Three Volume Set

Over the past twenty years, Cindy and Chris Allen have been educating their friends and customers

about antique lighting from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Now is your opportunity to learn from

their expertise in this series of books on one of the least understood areas of collecting.

For the First time ever!

Volume One documents the gas Fixtures of the C.H. McKenney Company of Boston, Massachusetts.

These are important historical designs of chandeliers, wall brackets, newel standards, glass shades and

other lighting devices from the 1870s and 1880s. Over 300 fixtures are richly illustrated with the use of

leading edge technology, which has enabled the painstaking restoration of the original catalogue

lithographs. These digitally-enhanced images are reproduced here with the highest quality printing

standards available, so you can see every crisp detail!

Here are what some of our readers are saying about our new book series: Color

"Hi Cindy and Chris,
Just wanted to drop you folks a line. I have just finished reading your books. I just wanted to tell you what a great job you have done on reproducing the catalogues. The computer-enhanced plates are outstanding! You did a nice job showing the evolution of the gas light over 1870s, 1880s and the 1890s. I also like how you suggested to new home restorer to compare the vintage fixture to the reproduction and see how they enhance one's living space. I feel one of the most important thing you highlight was, an owner of a gas fixture should be sensitive to the beauty and the age of the light. And take the time to have the lamp wired properly and make sure to keep the drill in the toolbox. As we all have seen, there are too many early brackets that have been drilled and poorly wired.
Good Luck,"
