Museum Quality Newel Post Gas Light, or Table Standard. This light is depicted in the 1876 Centennial Catalog of Mitchell Vance & Company New York.

This is an important and historical document of Museum Quality. The lamp features a Beautiful Neoclassical Maiden supported by a Corinthian column at her back and depicts a torch bearing Putti adorned with laurel climbing up a pedestal to light the vessel the Maiden is holding. This particluar light has been sold but we have a matching one that has its original vessel cover that is in the shape of a flame. On the light pictured here the original cover of this vessel has been replaced with an alternate antique piece. The finish is a wonderful rich verdigris accented by a lovely deep gold tone.

The Antique Lithophane shade is no longer availablebut we have many period antique shade choice we can offer.

Circa 1870 Pair Of Matched Table Standards or Newel Post Lights. Solid Bronze on their originalwhite marble bases. Opposing Pair. Magnificent. We have the staff or Caduceus that Mercury holds and it is the first time we have seen Venus holding a different Caduceus as well. The attention to detail is magnificnet complete with their original gas keys and signed by the Artist. These will be fitted with Period Early Gas shades and we have several to choose from. Anything from Simply elecgant Cut and Engraved Gas shades to Scenic Classical Motif deep etched early gas shades. True historical documents and exceptionally rare!!!

A breathtaking example of an Egret or Great Blue heron amidst foliage. Executed with excellent attention to detail. This figural lamp is fitted with a rare blue vaseline reactive glass shade with applied threading that resembles ripples in a pond. As if the heron just plucked a fish from its waters. Wow!!!

This is a very realistic full figural Owl Oil Lamp. If you want to scare away rodents just perch him anywhere. This is a Circa 1880's Table lamp with original glass eyes and fitted with a painted shade depicting an owl as well. Composition is Spelter with a great original finish.

This Mercury Newel Post Gas Light is 40 inches in height including the Bicolor Amber 2 5/8" Scenic Shade. Pictures speak a 1000 words. The casting is of the highest quality, the finish is mint, except for a little cleaning of the surface dirt. The base he stands from tells a story all on its own.
